Starting to sew

I really enjoy a blank piece of fabric, waiting for me to put lines on it with a needle and thread. A deep breath, then start to sew. Working with softer colours and tones first on all the pieces of backing fabric, these will be sewn together, then the brighter stronger colours will be added.

A bit scary working from blank fabric, developing layers of embroidery as I go along, but exciting too- drawing with a needle.

    1. I'm enjoying it Maggie- despite the slight scariness of sewing with no drawing on the fabric first...looking forward to finishing the first colours and starting on the brighter ones, but five more fabric pieces to complete before that happens.

  2. It's looking good so far! Just been admiring all your lino cuts and printing in your previous posts - what a multi-talented thing you are! Still - we all need to keep occupied with something indoors at the moment ... it's not like it's fit to go out or anything! xCathy

    1. Isn't it VILE out there! Weather like this is however, the perfect excuse for doing even more sewing/printing/whatever indoors.
